our wedding

Charlie and I live on my Great Grandparents farm ground in a small town in Southern Illinois.  As in small, I mean population 240!  They left the 105 acre farm to my Dad when they passed and when Charlie and I were in the market for a house, we knew right where we wanted to be. So, we sketched out some plans, determined our tiny budget, and set out to build a pole barn we could call a house until our budget allowed for a dream home!

Fast forward about 2 years, Charlie gets down on one knee on that very farm, and asks me to marry him! Now, it's wedding planning time!  When considering possible locations, there was no question on where I wanted to say "I do".  So again, we sketched out some plans, determined a budget, and set out to create a wedding we'd never forget!

We tilled the land where beans once grew, planted grass seed, built an altar, put on our cowboy boots and we were ready to go.  So here's a little peek at what November 6th, 2010 looked like for us...

Charlie built this table out of the posts from an old barn.  We set it up where the guests could grab a program and sign our guest book as they arrived.

We had our very own Valet Parking setup for our guests.  They had to park in a different field so we had three UTV's hauling our guests from their parking area to the wedding site.

And this is where it all went down. Smack dab in the middle of a field.  God sure did provide some beautiful backdrops for us!

Just makin' it official!

Charlie and I are blessed to have a large group of friends...that means large bridal party! These girls made my day so much more special!

Our cake was AHHHMAZING!!! One of our friend's mom is a very talented lady to say the least! She used the same flowers as our bouqets for the accent flowers and matched the ribbon to the dresses perfectly.

We had our reception at a winery just a few miles down the road, which also created wonderful photo opportunities!

Our fairy tale wedding definitley came to life that day!  A perfect day, we'll never forget!

  1. This place is amazing. I went there for a charity event. Aside from the fact that there was free food and an open bar, there was a wonderful view of the city, it was incredible.
